Platinum Bulwark

This knightly order exists to protect the Relmorn royal family from harm. The formal name of the order is simply the Relmorn Royal Guard, but since the highest ranking member of the order has always wielded the legendary shield Platinum Bulwark, the informal name has stuck. The Royal Guard makes its home in Keystone Fortress in Embervault and is the only armed military force allowed inside the fortress.

History

Founded by Kolranor Prexilmorev, a devout paladin, Lord of the Sapphire Pillar, and Regent of Relmaur for twelve years.
When the king and queen were ruthlessly slain by expertly trained assassins sent by Melathaur the Undying One, he founded the Royal Guard of Relmaur and commissioned Archmagister Melthandrius to create a shield of unrivaled magical power. Melthandrius labored for three years before finding success in using a primordial relic to create a shield of unparalleled brilliance, the Platinum Bulwark.
Kolranor awarded the shield to the Knight Vigilant, the highest ranking member of the Royal Guard, whose sole duty was to oversee the protection of the monarch. Over time, this shield became such an icon that the Royal Guard itself began to be referred to as the Platinum Bulwark.
