Surya, Runewarden’s Blade

Surya is an ancient dwarven relic, as old as the first of the Five Pillars of Relmaur. For centuries, it was wielded by Halldora, the runewarden who was responsible for the security of this mighty dwarven kingdom, then known as Keizaal. Halldora dedicated her life to protecting the great dwarven halls from the insidious beings of the Underdark and defending the mountains above from raging giants. She saw to the creation of the various tunnels, magical portals, and fortresses used to defend Relmaur to this day. Through the ages, the sword grew in power with Halldora and eventually gained sentience of its own. Queen Kathatra, who delivered the dragonborn out of Melabrauth and founded the dragonborn kingdom of Relmaur, discovered this sword in a chest hidden amongst the ruins of the dwarven kingdom. It is said that Surya wept for 10 years when she discovered the dwarves had disappeared without a trace.
