The imposible sand

Those are minutes fragments of the crystaline rocks, similar to sand, generated by The Killing Sands, which compose the mayority of The Imposible Desert.

Physical Characteristics

Their pink coloration, made them visually appealing, but don't let this fool you. This sand is always rougher that anything found in regular beaches and it has a tendency to produce tiny cuts in the skin when handled with naked hands. Individually has an almost imperceptible metalic smell, that is more perceptible, the more sand that is group together.

Properties

The sand by itself, has non known useful properties. Worse still, nobody knows if the Killing Sands generates the sand or if the process is the other way around and a big enought concetration of this sand, could create another of those deadly storms. Just in case, even those who collect this sand keep it in small containers, isolated from other things.
It won't disolv in regular water, but if it is are finely crushed, The imposible sand can be coaxed into mixing with certain alcohols.

Normally pink, it could have green or blue hues, depending where it is collected

Uses

Why is it dangerous to collect?

The only place to collect this sand, is deep in The Imposible Desert.
In this place, nothings grows. So there is no food, no water and even worse no shelter from the deadly Killing Sands

Investigation

There are several open studies, to investigate The Imposible Desert by studing the The imposible sand. Those studies are of limited scope and are not allowed inside the The capital, Spiralai, due to the fear caused by Killing Sands.

Mind altering Subtances

This new usage was discovered by accident during an accident while transporting some of this already crushed sand. One of the bags, broken down and spiled some of it, in the cave where it was stored. One of the adventurer, hired to collect and protect this new batch, noticed the fungus living there seem to grow more actively on contact with it. After some experiment he has found, this mix can create mind altering subtances, which he has started to produce and distribute.
