Early in her life, Mabel's father bled out in the battlefield without any medical attention and was ignored by his peers. His death inspired her to help somehow at the border. Despite females being forbidden from joining the military, she still pursued her goals. Mabel resigned at her position as the king's chef and bought some cheap property near the border. She collected bandages and painkillers to take out into battle for the harmed. Her willingness that she displayed to give he life for her patients was commendable.
