The Vindexian Shoreline
The King's Pride.
Serene beaches blend to temperate marshes creating a sub-tropical climate.
Geography
Several short connecting rivers trickle into the coast creating the iconic marshes. The beach commands an awe with rolling sand and aquamarine waters. The docks dot the landscape like garments on a maiden's dress. The coast gives fish and clay to the Vindexians which plays a fair role in the economy. Meanwhile the marshlands are hot, humid, and generally miserable. Despite this, the marshlands are treasured along the beaches.
Fauna & Flora
Few plants grow on the dry beach besides some bushes. Crabs, razor clams, and mollusks can be found on land. Underwater, a variety of life is present in the seaweed and species of fish. Small coral reefs grow close to shore creating its own environment. Shrimp, Tuna, and Mahi Mahi are beloved fish to coast folk. Other marine fish are notable like the swordfish and clownfish. The marshlands hold moss, algae, and reeds amidst the water. Crocodiles are rumored to live here but have not been confirmed. Mosquitos are common and spread Malaria along with Yellow Fever. During the night, lightning bugs appear in the marshland as long as it isn't raining or snowing. Bizarrely, these bugs aren't seen anywhere else in Fractura.
Natural Resources
The beaches are an amazing source of clay and sand to be made into glass. Excavation projects are generally shunned as it taints the beach's beauty. The Marshlands hold a secret beneath its ugly surface. Hidden underground, copious amounts precious gems and minerals lie. This supplies much of the Vindexian's resources and treasure. This also opens up jobs for miners looking to make a potential fortune. This attractive career comes with some deadly drawbacks. Veterans of the mine are commonly left with a black lung causing a slow death of asphyxiation. Mistakes are also made in the tunnels with dynamite. Workers have been crushed by debris, boulders, and impaled by stalactites.
