The CANC and the UPP clash against the UA and its allies in the Dog War. Several colonies are swept up in the conflict despite their allegiances. The Tientsin colony becomes the focus of the conflict. The CANC is forced to abandon their colonies, eventually being absorbed by the UPP. Former CANC territories become known as America’s Backhand and are established as manufacturing colonies. The Dog War ends with the signing of the Pang Ho Treaty. The Borderline Region DMZ is formed between the UPP and UA in former CANC territory, making the colonies within the area independent.
