Owlin

The Desert of Death is located where it is largely because of a tall mountain range named the Carcathi Mountains. The presence of this range causes a rain shadow from the clouds coming off the Outer Ocean. On the other side of these mountains, on the deosil side of the supercontinent, the rainfall has created large forests with impossibly tall redwood trees as the dominant species. Climb these trees and you will find the lovely treehouses of the owlin.
The owlin are a widely traveled species and one of the first to join the Beastlands beyond the original three (leonin, centaur, and minotaur). The idea of the byssward races coming together for mutual aid was very attractive to the collective sensibilities of the avian race and have been enthusiastic boosters of the Accord of the Waters from the moment they signed it.
