Gerr Prime

Appointment

Upon the end of the term of the previous Gerr Prime, the leaders of the Gerrean Peoples assemble in a conclave and elect the next Gerr Prime amongst themselves.
Often, the process of gathering support is begun years in advance, as the previous Gerr Prime starts to show sign of age. No conclave has so far resulted in a stalemate or violence. The decision is taken, and then respected.

Duties

The Gerr Prime is the ultimate leader of The Gerrean Covenant and protector of its peoples. They hold absolute power over Covenant spanning matters. They reign for seventeen sixteen years, or till death.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A representative of the Gerrean Peoples can call a conclave to attempt to remove or dismiss the reigning Gerr Prime. It requires a 2/3rds majority to take effect.
There are no recorded instances of such a thing being attempted.
