Vicremian Theocracy

The Vicremian Theocracy, commonly referred to as the "Faithful of Vicremia" is a nation of devout worshipers of the Goddess Yggdrasil and the Order of the Clover. Though devout believers in the faith, Vicremia's religious practices are quite insular; combing the unique aspects of their culture into their acts of reverence and worship. These aspect are so much removed from the orthodox ways of worship that many of the uninitiated have mistaken them for pagans worshiping false gods.
For the last few decades, The nation has been facing struggles and emergencies on all fronts of society, due its almost non-existent central government, inability to enforce its laws effectively, corruption, food shortages and most of all a strong monster presence that acts beyond the reach of it's ruling bishop's power.

Structure

The State of Vicremia is a theocratic nation with the tenants for the Order of the Clover being the foundation of its laws and governmental structure. However The local flavor of it culture has changed the structure into one that is completely removed what the orthodox would call religious structure. For one, the Order of the Clover puts women above men in both it religious doctrine and in its religious structure. As such The upper echelons of its leadership is almost entirely composed of women. In the Theocracy of Vicremia; to begin with is ruled by a "Bishop" a title that does not exist in the Order's structure and is a position that only exists in Viremia and on other nation. Next is the fact that all positions in the theocracy to include the bishop can only be filled by men, which is in stark contradiction to the orthodoxy.

Culture

Vicremians put the family unit and its traditions at the forefront of their identity as a people. Faith and trust are put into one's close family first and extended family second, with all others such as acquaintances and strangers being last. responsibility to the family and keeping the family together are sole goals of Vicremians and as such most villages, and towns are inhabited almost completely by members of one or two prominent families.

Demography and Population

Due to a weak government, insufficient funding, and unsafe travel; the nation has been unable to complete a proper census of its people and is currently relying upon the Human Federation for assistance in their current attempt to complete one with the total number still pending. Though with the many issues currently facing the Theocracy, it is assumed that the population has dropped significantly. Historically speaking the people of Vicremia live in small dispersed and hard to find settlements, with very few towns and only one city; the capital.

Military

What few dregs of men that could be called a "soldiers" or an "army" can be summed up in a few word; ineffectual and non-existent. Many of it's service men after years of constant combat, supply shortages, lack of trained or talented leadership and most disheartening of all; lack of any victory or success, have deserted opting to put themselves and their families above the safety of the the nation as a whole. The nation has instead been forced to rely upon small tasks forces of largely untrained, often underaged men to defend its crippled nation. Even resorting to letting women risk their lives along side men in battle; an idea that would have been seen as cowardly and unacceptable, is all that the nation can muster.
Rather desperately the nation has been utterly reliant on the Human Federation for it protection and the enforcement of its laws. The Human Federation currently has stationed an approximation of 50,000 for it's troops deployed between the nations capital, few towns and strategic locations.
