The Northern Ocean

A body of water to the north of the Known World. This name is given to it by the Great Powers of the Known World; it is called an ocean rather than a sea because it is regarded as part of Ocean - the great river which they believe encircles Gaia. The Northlanders call it Sälvägen or "Seal Road"; they believe in the great Ocean encircling the world but have travelled more extensively here and so do not believe the Northern Ocean is part of it.
The Northlands are found to the north-east of the Northern Ocean, and the islands of Albion to the west.
