Avatar

Avatar is the city of madness and eternal night. The seat of the Shadowed Overlord and the head of the Shrouded Lands. The city feels Alive somehow, as two deities try for it's complete control.

Demographics

The city has its lower class, middle clas, and Upper Class. many species make up these classes as a majority are humans. They  all have some sort of Lunacy effecting them however, and it is possible due to the God of Madness' imprisonment within the catacombs of Avatar. The city is known for it's Iron works, and unique clothing. The MErchants make up most of the city's population as the Aristocrats make up the city's upper class, as slave owners or business owners.

Government

The Government of Avatar is Complete Dictatorship.A strange form of Imperial Dictatorship, that the Overlord has put into place. The title is the only thing that is known about the leader of the city and the nation. Many have held the title but names were irrelevant. The Shrouded Lands and the landscape outside Avatar a re mostly Duchy run by Barons and Baronesses. Taxation is medium rate, as the rates are usually driven by greed and outside forces that are seeking control of the city. A tax must be paid to the Overlord for residency in Avatar. It is laos known to take Souls as well, for exchange.

History

Avatar's history is unknown, to most people, even it's inhabitants. They claim it's always been around, but as what? The city was founded during a time where there was not much of any recording of history. It's possible the city was built upon a Life Font and the Temple of the Damned is what started the city.

The Temple of the Damned

The Temple of the damned is a large cathedral that dominates the skyline of Avatar. It eventually became the Twilight Citadel, which is still open to Death worshipers and occasional Madness Lunatics. This became the palace in which teh Overlord runs the city, and where Deathtoll resides, it was the former cathedral's Belltower.

The Catacombs of Madness

Deep beneath the city's sewers lays what is said to be the foundation and heart of teh city, the very place that gives Avatar it's strange and dark energy. There was a clash between Drinalis and Amandeaux, Drinalis was the victor, and had cut up pieces of the God of Madness to scatter across Gaia. His heart was buried beneath the city,which is said to still work. The reason behind the madness and shroud within the city. Even in his punishment ,Admandeaux coaxes people to do his bidding and become Lunatics.

Architecture

The City is a dark gothic blend. Mostly stone and metal buildings that make up most of the structures within the city. Every building has an elegant shape and style to it, when a construction is built, it usually takes longer than usual to complete. The city seems to be stuck in a Age of Steam technological setting. Most of everything is hand built and forged by hand.
