Hytheron
Hytheron's story [partially non-canon]
Ancient Lore after the ascension of the gods near the end of the Gigadragonomy, each deity was invited to their father’s realm of existence. They each claimed territory and domain over the prime sentence of sad territory, even meeting with them to create God children of their own Hytheron’s weapon: Thurgalir (translates to Storm’s point in Celestial) - double-sided maul with a spear point in center, contains the Goultani Gaiostone and was forged from Dahli’s spear by deformed humans. These deformed beings were seen as ugly, but as thanks for their work, Hytheron offered their leader, Murthis, a seat on his pantheon. Once Hytheron completed his ascension and began to conquer his portion of Hytheria (unnamed by this point), he kept his promise to Murthis, ascending him to Minor godhood. In response to this divine act, the remaining deformed humans in Murthis’ clan became the first dwarves, and used Murthis’ example to become unparalleled craftsmen. [things below this line may be partially or noncanon] •At the end of the Divine War, T’Nar did not kill or directly imprison Thatos or Hytheron. Instead, he uses his unchallenged temporal power to revert their bodies back to their pre-ascension mortal forms. This reverted them to their demigod strength, speed, durability, stamina & Gaioforce powers, but retained their divine intelligence, memory & immortal longevity (cannot die of old age, but can be killed or injured by a powerful opponent). •After the process was complete, T’Nar threw both gods to separate parts of Gaion: 1. Thatos to Southern Vulsemar, Land of the Dragons 2. Hytheron to Northern Vulsemar, Land of the Giants 3. Bludbaine (Rouzhai Gaiostone) remained in the middle of the Sanhi Desert in Dalterra, which Solternian refugees escaping/wishing to avoid the Siege of Dahlaeyir discovered. They built the Sun Elf city-state of Banatar around it and gained an innate connection to its power, becoming the first Rouzhai Sun Elves. 4. Thurgalir (Goultani Gaiostone) remained at the top of the Dongard Mountains in Western Hythenos. Later discovered by the Dwarves, who used its power to forge their mountaintop kingdoms and advanced technology •Hytheron reacts with extreme anger & hostile depression to the loss of his power, immediately wishing to conquer the draconic continent. However, tensions between both parties from the Gigadragonomy, specifically the Ascension of the Gods that kept the dragons in their place, kept the dragons hostile and unyielding to the “washed up godchild”, with many attempting to kill him for glory and revenge. After two failed attempts to conquer the dragons and barely escaping with his life, Hytheron abandoned his quest for power in North Vulsemar and retreated to the Vals’afor Mountains, the natural border between Cyregnor & North Vulsemar. Here, he spent his years spiritually reconnecting with the sky & other magicks, seeking to find the Goultani Gaiostone and reconnect with his full divine power. •Over time, humans who heard rumors of a “godly man” in the mountains between Dragon & Frost Elf territory began to seek him out, with only the hardiest of humans surviving the expedition. Hytheron revealed himself to those who found him and did not have good reason to betray him, slowly amassing an army of tundra men. •By around 500 years before the Insurrection of Danarim, Hytheron had amassed a large army of tundra men, mammoths, Frost Dragons that Hytheron bent to his service, and a fleet of airships. With it, he finally enacted his plan to restore his power: invading the Dwarven Empire and retaking the Goultani Gaiostone. The war pushed both sides to their limits, taking countless Dwarven and human lives over the course of 15 years. •in the climax of the war, Hytheron breached the ancient Dwarven capital and clashed his army against the Dwarven defenses. The city fell, but so did Hyheron’s airships; leaving this technology To be acquired by the dwarves and improved on. Hytheron clashed personally with Emperor Narvon, wielder of the axehammer housing the Goultani Gaiostone. Both men exerted great power, their battle destroying the crumbling city. Narvon channeled enough power from the Gaiostone to permanently impair his mental state towards insanity, while Hytheron channeled enough to max out his demigod magicks and form, becoming nearly invincible. •However, after a drawn out duel, Emperor Narvon finally connected with a Gaiostone-enhanced axe swing, carving down Hytheron’s chest. Despite landing this mortal blow, Narvon collapsed from the effort, having driven himself completely mad with the power he drew and physically burned/strained from the power he unleashed. Hytheron, feeling his mortal body fading, was so damaged by the power of his own weapon that he could not reverse its damage with the Goultani Gaiostone. As a final spite to the mortal world, Hytheron used his magic to place a curse on the axehammer: any mortal who wields it may achieve ultimate power, but will be slowly driven mad if they attempt to draw too much of its power, like Narvon did. This would later be known as Narvon’s Curse to the many factions that fought for control of the weapon after Narvon’s death, collapsing the empire and dividing the dwarves into their separate mountain kingdoms. •While only partially successful in his conquest and unsuccessful at ascension, Hytheron saw his battles as a victory, as he had finally achieved the near-limitless power he desired through leading unorganized tribes of men into an entire civilization, gaining worship and glory amongst their side, and his other lessons/training since the Divine War. Satisfied and at peace with his work, Hytheron’s immortal soul eroded his mortal body away, with a handful of dwarves and humans witnessing his demise •Hytheron’s death was a puzzle; in theory, his divine children would have claimed his soul to live in Hytheria, the dimension they rule in his image. However, enjoying the power they held and not wishing to relinquish to their father, they allowed the Denowraiths to claim him. With a normal soul, they would have succeeded. But Hytheron, a divine soul pushed to the brink of its power and near-ascension, had become a destructive entity known as a Godwraith. While his conscious mind died in peace, the raw power of his soul survived, albeit severely mangled. Hytheron fought like a rabid thunder spirit, destroying countless Denowraiths & several devils before Danos, the Archdevil of Death, personally intervened, capturing the fallen god. •Danos, choosing to keep this a secret from Cyr, spent years experimenting & corrupting the Hytheron Godwraith to his will, eventually transforming him into a stable, corporal being. His soul emanated with yellow, blue & white lightning from his sleek Undermetal body. Having long since lost his memories as Hytheron, with only instinctive motivations, vague personality traits, & partial experiences remaining in his psyche from those days. Instead, the armored Godwraith chose a new name for himself, Zaethis. He served Danos as his most powerful soul collector, •[non-canon] After 400 centuries of service to Danos, Zaethis negotiated a deal with the Archdevil of Death; allow him the freedom to roam the mortal world as he pleased for the next 100 years, but remain on-call for important collections, such as demigods or powerful souls that retain consciousness after death. Danos agreed and sweetened the deal, allowing for his freedom from service on the condition that he never acts in a way that directly or indirectly defies the will of Danos during his century of freedom. If he succeeds, his soul will be freed after 100 years is up; if he fails, his will be reclaimed and forced to serve under Danos forever. Seeing the opportunity, Zaethis agreed.Remove these ads.
