Harnen
Harnen is country found on the continent of Dremith. It has been cut off from most of the world with limited travel and trade. The country is cut off by a large cursed forest called the Feral and is far off from any other land masses.
Geography
The country is made of a large peninsula. Through the center of the land runs a large mountain called the Spine of the world. the land around it is made up of both forest and grasslands. it is surrounded by the salt water of the oceans but has access to fresh water rivers, lakes and mountain springs. The land is known for its beautiful clear mountain lakes. the waters there are clear and teaming with life. the tall mountains collect snow in the colder months and melt in the summer causing the lakes to flood and refill every spring causing any trees near by to be surrounded by water. the grasslands spread out and are cultivated by farmers into large fields through the rolling hills.
Ecosystem
it is a warmer climate. it gets colder in the winter months but rarely snows. Frost is common but snow is usually only found near the tops of the mountains.
Ecosystem Cycles
many creatures will become more docile through the colder months though all animals can still be seen from time to time. Farmers us this time to allow their fields to rest for a few months though some may use smaller plots to grow some hardier plants. Food can still be found through the changing of all seasons.
Localized Phenomena
There is a magical fog that covers the Feral Wyld. It can not be blown away and is constant through all seasons. There have been earthquakes here in the past. There are a number islands off the coast that make up a land called Vipool. These islands were formed by a volcano that had emerged from the ocean after a particularly bad earth quake. the volcano has not erupted since but it keeps the islands at an above average temperature.
Fauna & Flora
the land is mainly dry so the foliage here is made up mostly of tall grasses, there are mixed pines and hard woods along the cliffs and in the forests along the coasts. There are wild flower fields that span acres. The swamp lands to the north have rotted trees as well as various algae's and cat tails.
Natural Resources
Harnen has a number of natural resources such as fishing, mining of precious metals (a gem mine as well as a ore mine for steel), vast grasslands perfect for farming and forests for wood.
Tourism
There is little to no tourism. not many people travel to Harnen as its out of the way as well as cut off by the cursed forest.
