Asteralus
Asteralus was a Vespin Aelfe of pensive strength and rugged determination, his life defined by his love for his family and the deep connection he felt to the forest around him. With long green hair tied back, wood armor, and woven leathers, he was the embodiment of the wilderness he called home. He was a skilled hunter, often seen with his trusted machete at his side and a bow slung across his back, always ready to provide for village and his family, Agertina his wife and their two young sons, Snakeroot and Phlox.
On the day of the fire that tore through Eleyond during the Conveyance of the Green, Asteralus was out hunting with Snakeroot. When the smoke began to fill the sky, his heart sank with the realization that his family was in danger. He ensured that Snakeroot was safely away from the flames, but the thought of Agertina trapped in the inferno drove him back into the burning city. The forest that had once been his ally turned against him, and as he neared their home, a burning tree collapsed, pinning him beneath its weight.
Snakeroot, though just a child, found his father and with all the strength he could muster, pulled him from beneath the burning bark. But it was too late—Asteralus was already gone, his life taken in his desperate attempt to save the woman he loved. Asteralus's death left a void in the lives of those who knew him, his memory now one of both bravery and tragedy, a father who gave everything to protect what he held most dear.
