Mir'Dhat Acropolis
The Mir’Dhat Acropolis, a towering fortress carved into a red sandstone valley, adorned with gold designs etched on a massive pyramidal stronghold within the Caluan Desert. Once a sacred burial ground for the Süntek Aelves, its terraces and walls were carved by ancient hands, with sharp lines and intricate patterns etched into the stone, reflecting the burning sun. A river of liquid gold now encircles the Acropolis, a molten moat that glows in the dim light of dusk, a sign of the power that lies within.
The Acropolis has passed through many hands. First the Süntek, who buried their dead in this hallowed ground. The Moonfolk once claimed it, using the well of Ancestral Ink at its heart to Deathscry, an act of communing with the spirits of the ancestors in the sand. But their time ended when Aur’Un Gulblud, the Blood Ogre warlord, led a brutal conquest to take the stronghold. Now, the Goldfist Mercenaries rule from this once-sacred ground, led by Aur'Un himself. Beneath the Acropolis lies one of Galfin’s richest gold mines, and it is here, surrounded by his spoils, that Aur’Un Gulblud has made his throne. But the true treasure remains the Ancestral Ink well, a font of ancient power coveted by those who understand its true potential. Aur’Un has held this resource hostage, dripping out small quantities for the Deathscriers to use but controlling the amount so he can negotiate higher prices from the Hierarch without pushing for open war, at least not yet.
