The financial arm of the Hierarch. The Oligarch holds supreme authority over the Merchant Magnate Guild, a title forged from wealth and influence rather than bloodline. Representing the highest rung of power within Calua's merchant hierarchy, the Oligarch controls trade routes, resource allocation, and political favour among the nobility. This title is granted not by inheritance but through the silent, cutthroat world of trade. The Oligarch’s word can shape the entire economy of the region, making them one of the most powerful figures in the Caluan Desert.

While the Tombking stands as the guardian of history and tradition, the Oligarch emerges as the mastermind of commerce and negotiation. As the head of the Merchant Magnate Guild, the Oligarch oversees the flow of resources, from grains to gleaming ores, ensuring the prosperity of Calua. Esteemed for their shrewd business acumen, the Oligarch's reputation is two-fold: a beacon of respect for their commercial achievements and a shadow of fear for their ruthless bargaining tactics. Together with the Tombking, they embody the spirit and ambition of the Hierarch of Calua.
  Fourth Era Oligarchs

  4E, 12 (532 BHM) - Abuu Rhytyn Abuu was already brining wealth to the desert, while his Tombqueen mother sought bring back the spirituality that she formed Sirocco with. Abuu and Ghi'Nan had many arguments on how the nation of Sirocco should be run. Ghi'Nan has the final word but wanted her people to thrive as well in an era of burgeoning trade. She decided that beneath the Tombqueen there would be the master of trade and coin. Abuu becomes the first Oligarch. Abuu needs to make sure the country's prosperous wealth can help it grow culturally as well.
  4E, 38 (517 BHM) - Matria During her reign, Matria oversaw the construction of the Grand Trade Hall, a monumental structure that became the heart of Sirocco's bustling trade. Here is where fine silks moved from the sandy deserts to all corners of the mainland.
  4E, 60 (495 BHM) - Thrahn Pharin the Warden of Fort Argent Thorne was renowned for establishing unprecedented trade agreements with neighboring realms, bringing a golden age of prosperity to Sirocco. Thrahn housed the largest deposit of Lunar Silver in his vault in Silvermound. He already had alliances with nearby dwarven clans because he was able to keep their goods in a second location for security.
  4E, 77 (478 BHM) - Thamal Amusara the Visionary Thamal's rule was marked by a deep fascination with ancient prophecies. He commissioned the construction of the Celestial Observatory to interpret celestial signs. The Merchant Magnate Guild created under Innana's rule. The 8 Magnates were decided by Tombqueen Innana and Oligarch Thamal.
  4E, 85 (470 BHM) - Cassian the Engineer Cassia, an engineering prodigy, orchestrated the construction of an elaborate canal system, enhancing agricultural output and transforming Sirocco into an oasis of plenty. He was moved from Odell to Cavahn at the decree of Tombking Ammon to prevent assassination attempts on the Hierarch leaders being in the same city. The harsh salt flats needed his mind alongside other scholars from the Sterling to be able to work the resources more efficiently.
 
  4E, 103 (452 BHM) - Harkon Grang Harkon's reign was characterized by opulent displays of wealth. He imported exotic goods and adorned the capital with ivory statues, solidifying Sirocco's status as a cultural hub. The younger brother to the Tombking, Raabi Rhytyn was sent to live with Harkon and train under his tutelage.
  4E, 143 (412 BHM) - Raabi Rhytyn Raabi focused on intricate diplomacy, fostering alliances and strategic marriages to safeguard Sirocco from external threats. However, his reign was criticized for neglecting internal issues as his siblings caused an uproar when they began sacrificing their children in the Dentoran Moon Sacrifice. His mother forced the Tombking to push his mentor Harkon to retire so that Raabi could become Oligarch.
  4E, 184 (371 BHM) - Eltan Murik Eltan was a master of espionage and subtle influence. Under his watch, Sirocco's markets thrived, but rumors of corruption and intrigue shadowed his legacy.
