Blue River
One of the three major rivers of Taebur, the Blue River isn't much a part of Taebur. Only the short extent of it that runs through the City of Cartoons, where it joins with the White River to form the Red River, is actually within the borders of what is generally considered Taebur. The majority of the river runs through the the Highlands of Ethpa.
The Blue River is often considered one of the most beautiful sights on the continent. Its water is a bright and vibrant blue, a blue that is maintained if a small sample is taken. This, of course, is a sign to anyone knowledgeable in such things that there is something off about the water. As beautiful as it is to look at, the fact is that the Blue River is quite deadly. The water itself is radioactive and no one is entirely certain what gives it its blue colour, though many chemicals and other explanations have been suggested.
Although the Blue River is considerably narrower than the White River, it is also considerably deeper and supplies about two thirds of the water that forms the Red River--perhaps an explanation for that river's radioactivity, though not for all its other deadly attributes.
Next to nothing is known about the source of the Blue River, and very little about what lies along most of its length. Some travellers have described the beautiful valleys and canyons it flows through. However, the Highlands of Ethpa are notoriously difficult to traverse, so the number of travellers who have seen the extent of the Blue River--and survived--is very low.
