Dind

Dind is one of the most powerful cities of the Orrólans and possibly the oldest in Orrs, and forms a kind of stepping stone -along with Óaa and Dlúm- for sailors to rest, trade and repair their ships on their way between Emlas to the northwest and the countries further west along the coast of Túlmikkía.
Traditionally, the Enans are believed to have originated in Dind before sailing off to (and later settling in) Emlas long ago in search of the culture hero Jandaa to put an end to severe droughts in the region. According to the dindi however, the enans were banished from the city for bringing misfortune there, either through blasphemy or betrayal of some sort.

Demographics

As in other major settlements along the coast of Aam, much of the population is made up of local orrólan tribes, along with small communities of Galkans, enans and other people who frequently pass through the city on their way between Emlas and the rest of Túlmikkía.

Industry

DInd is the main producer of myrrh, a resin used as incense, perfume and, among the Dalrans in eastern Emlas, to flavour wine. Tobacco is also grown some quantity, which is more commonly used in religious ceremonies, as the smoke is believed to keep evil spirits at bay, rather than as a drug.
