Mefúra is (so far) the only permanent settlement in Vóx-Tingrenalx, the northern province of the empire of Rexlas. Located on the north bank of Núm River on the southwestern Tingrenis Plain, it's little more than a town centered around a fort bearing the same name. The fort itself houses soldiers and supplies to aid further conquest in Eke-Tingrenalx to the northeast.

Demographics

The population of Mefúra is overwhelmingly tingreni or Tingreni descendants, though the town's ruling class and army are mostly Rexans. This has resulted in a number of native influences on the rexan population's cuisine, dress and language despite being frowned upon by the latter.
For example, some soldiers have taken up drinking fermented mare milk flavoured with chili, vanilla, sesame seeds and other rexan spices, as mead and wine are in short supply and mostly hoarded by their superiors.

History

Mefúra started out as a fort built early in emperor Þraloxíanus the Younger's ongoing expansion of the empire beyond the Katark Mountains, and has grown since both to accommodate the soldiers stationed there as well as native tingreni as the province became more stable.

Architecture

Most of the buildings are relatively simple and made from local materials, mostly stone, clay, wood and straw, resembling structures seen in Apan-Ódolalx south of the Katark Mountains.
