Azarki Kevin-Kevin
Born to Valzu Kevin-Kevin, free-spirited bard of the famous Kevin-Kevin family and Regent Balgren Reefshield of the Ar'Pata Atoll, the salt and spray of The Vast has been a part of Azakri's life since he first drew breath.
He was the product of a surprising union, and more surprising still is the choice of both his parents to raise him in an environment free from familial obligations, feeling pressure from neither the Kevin-Kevins or the Ar'Pata people to fashion himself into something useful. Instead, he followed his own path, which lead him to become the First Follower of Kharlo Chondricht, called Kharlo the Catalyst.
Growing up on his mother's vessel, The Reluctant Prince, Azakri's childhood was full of stories about the Vastblasters and their victory over the existential threat of Vo'k'ua. Kharlo--and his sacrifice to save the people of the Isles, featured prominently in these tales. This was especially true in versions of the story told by his mother and uncle Rain , and over time, these stories began to mean more than just history or entertainment--the stories of Kharlo began to manifest as a religion for Azarki. The life of Kharlo the Catalyst became a way to understand how to navigate the Great (and unpredictable) Current of life, and Kharlo started to become the Catalyst, an entity of exigency and herald of change.
Resolute that this is his path--to become the First Follower of the Catalyst and go where Kharlo steers him--he has decided to join the Second Echwink Expedition to Vardura.
