Rosepua

Rosepua is an active volcano in The Vast.

Geography

Located southeast of Awa and southwest of Luu, the prominence of Rosepua's black crags can be seen from both Isles on a clear day. The volcano, presumably through many eruptions, is surrounded by craters and calderas, forming an maze-like chain around the active vent.

Natural Resources

Unsurprisingly, obsidian is in abundance on Rosepua, but to harvest or mine anything from the volcano is a serious social transgression.

History

Considered by some to be the home of Tummu, and others to be the lair of Hottim, Rosepua has played an integral role in the identity of the Bari people since before recorded history. Like The Vast itself, many Bari consider it a sacred site. Recent history has witnessed diplomatic clashes between Luu and Awa as to which Isle, exactly, is the primary guardian of Rosepua and in whose circle of influence the volcano should lie. There is known to be at least one dragon in residence, calling himself Vandrizoth the Slagkeeper.
