Intervention Overview

Continuing the events from The Penitent: Wake in the Break, Part One, Penitents Doric, Immeron, and Kharesen were suddenly joined by Penitent Sennic and Yaz the Penitent Drake, just in time to hunt down a kongamato. The hunting prowess of the Penitents made the resulting feast much more glorifying to the departed Torchbreaker and the Penitents gained appropriate esteem in the eyes of the Yarlsfolk. That evening, while they slept, the Penitents were ambushed by assassins, presumably sent by Jaeyms, an ordinator of Alerki Ascendency to disrupt their efforts here. These assassins were not successful.
The next day also featured little success for the Penitents, as the traditional funerary games of Stones and Misthoof Goat Race proved a bit too esoteric for them to perform impressively. Fortunately, they fared better during the most significant contest of the wake, the Bryndowd. During this poetic competition, the Penitent improvised compelling verse and inspired Kilende of the Coldsky to ask the Penitents to attend her as Cadellen during the Circle. They did so, and were victorious against Thimgris Rockmaw, thereby ensuring a peaceful transition to Torchbreaker for Kilende, and for the Smorgmellen Valley. The Intervention concluded, the Penitent returned to The Bunkhouse in Eldheim

Salient Details

• The Penitent tried an alcoholic concoction called Gnetglow. It had varying results.
