Emperor of Kenereth
Requirements
To become Emperor/Empress of Kenereth, you must be the firstborn son of the previous Emperor. If the Emperor has no sons but does have daughters, then the firstborn daughter of the Emperor becomes Empress Regnant. If the Emperor has no heirs, the Emperor's consort becomes Empress Dowager.
Appointment
When the previous Emperor dies, the next in line assumes the position immediately. Formally, however, the new Emperor/Empress is typically formally coronated at the previous Emperor's funeral, about a week after their unfortunate passing. The new Emperor is coronated by the previous Empress Consort and the High Magistrate of the Church of Erathis. At this point, if the Emperor-in-line has a consort, that consort becomes Empress Consort. If not, the search for their consort begins with haste.
Responsibilities
The Emperor is responsible for planning and signing off on many of the decrees, writs & laws that govern the Empire. The Emperor also appoints the High Magistrate of the Church of Erathis, as well as many members of his government.
Benefits
The Emperor is the absolute ruler of the Empire of Kenereth. He holds control over the entire Royal Treasury, as well as full authority over every citizen in the Empire. Everything within Kenereth is his to command.
History
During the Time of Strife, when the separation of the Brekarian Empire was occuring, there were three large factions amid the many warring states. One of those factions was led by the Noble House of Kenereth. They managed to get a foothold over a large amount of territory and held many supporters. By the end of the Time of Strife with the signing of the Divided Kingdoms Treaty, the Kenereth Empire was founded, and Waylon Kenereth I was declared the Emperor of Kenereth in the first coronation at Waylon's Keep.
