Demographics

The city of Koruluhr is inhabited entirely by Giantforged races, and the demographics are as follows: Goliaths (73%), Human (12%), Dwarves (9%), and Gnomes (6%).
Among the Goliaths: Frostherd (93%), Other Clans (7%). All Dwarves in Koruluhr are Mountain Dwarves, and all Gnomes in Koruluhr are Rock Gnomes.

Government

The city is led by its Herdchieftain, currently a Frostherd Goliath named Audath Kolakiago. The Herdchieftain is the member of the herd most capable to communicate with that herd's ancestral spirits, and is counselled by both the ancestors and the living elders of the village. Beyond that, every person serves a different purpose in the city.

History

In the beginning of the Second Age, the Frost Giants of Geloriel began to build their empire with the assistance of their Giantomaton servants. They were frequently at war with the White and Silver dragons of the region, and eventually were brought down near the end of the Second Age. Their settlement was left in ruin for that time. Eventually, during the Third Age, the Giantforged of the region (but primarily Goliaths) settled the ruins, slowly rebuilding them overtime, and eventually restoring them to a livable state, though nowhere near the glory of its day. Now, the people of Koruluhr continue to rebuild the land, as well as slowly establishing relations with other lands.

Architecture

Much of the city is created out of stone from the nearby mountains, as well as ice magically enchanted to never melt. Some buildings are made out of wood, but as it is a rare commodity beyond firewood for those that cannot stand the cold, it is not a common resource. Much of the color in the city are blues and greys, symbolic of the ancient Frost Giants that settled here before.

Geography

The city is on a frozen hill overlooking the nearby frozen terrain. To the south is the tip of the Giant's Spine, the mountain range that divides the continent of Lanora from the unmapped Ravaged Lands. It is bordered on every other side by the North Sea.

Climate

The weather in the city of Koruluhr is constantly cold, never above 0°C. It frequently snows, and occasionally hails.

Natural Resources

The mountains to the south are rich with valuable resources. Additionally, the city itself is full of ancient Giant knowledge and technology, which is a hot commodity to scholars and historians. Finally, the meat and milk of the Aurochs that inhabit the The Frozen North are very valuable to not only the citizens of Koruluhr, but anyone south of them that can afford it.
