Kaedehara Hisamichi is a Japanese-born alumnus of Teyvat Academy. He was one of the heads of the middle-class Kaedehara family before he willingly passed it down to his son, Kazuki. He married Nishimoto Aemi, a daughter of the Nishimoto family. He iis the father of Kaedehara Kazuki, and the grandfather of Kaedehara Kanae and the J-Pop idol, Kaedehara Kazuha. He is the son of Kaedehara Kayami and Kaedehara Yoshinori (born Niwa Yoshinori), and was the grandson of Kaedehara Kagemitsu.

Education at Teyvat Academy
While at Teyvat Academy, Hisamichi was in the Inazuma Dorm. He met his future wife, Nishimoto Aemi, when he was eleven while he was studying there, and when they were fourteen, they started dating. He was in the same class as Kamisato Takehide, Sakai Kahori, Nishimoto Aemi, Kujou Shohei, and Yukimura Kuri. Like Aemi, he was best friends with Kujou Shohei and Yukimura Kuri, and the four of them were often described as inseparable. When Kamisato Takehide joined their group as Kuri's closest friend, Hisamichi was one of those who was convinced that there was something going on between Kuri and Takehide, despite both parties denying it. As Takehide's girlfriend, following an agreement between the Sakai and Kamisato families, Kahori also started to hang out with the group. While Aemi was more civil with Kahori, despite not being close with her either, Hisamichi openly disliked her - immediately seeing how jealous of Kuri Kahori was. Alongside Takehide and Kuri, Hisamichi was also on the Inazuma Varsity Teams - specifically the kendo team of the Yashiro Commission sub-unit.Marriage

Alongside Aemi, Hisamichi was shocked to hear of the birth of Yukimura Saori - particularly as she was the illegitimate daughter of Aemi and Hisamichi's old school friend, Yukimura Kuri, who had married Kujou Shohei after they graduated from school. Saori was born in April 1989, only a month after Kazuki - which brought about more surprise as Aemi, who had always been closer to Kuri than Hisamichi, had told her husband that she wasn't even aware that Kuri had been pregnant either - as they hadn't seen Kuri much during Aemi's pregnancy with Kazuki. They were also surprised because they believed Kuri and Shohei's marriage to be happy - from what Shohei had told them. Despite the risk to their own reputations, Hisamichi and Aemi both chose to support Kuri and the Yukimuras during their month of scandal and ruin - especially with more and more Yukimuras dying every day due to the mysterious monster attacks that plagued the family in the month following Kuri's birth. Hisamichi and Aemi only retracted their support of the Yukimura family in May 1989, when Kamisato Aisa and Kujou Shohei were among the last to die in the final attack on the Yukimura family - out of fear that the supposed curse on Saori would affect their own families. Despite this, Aemi continued to be worried about Kuri, and Hisamichi did whatever he could to silence some of the talk about Kuri and Saori in the years that followed.
