Born in exile to elven parents who had fled the Kingdom of the Albi during the *Wars of the Great Discord.
Instead of not wanting the upbringing that your parents want, you are recognized for mystic abilities that only rarely occur in a seventh of seventh and are seen as a great gift. Your parents want you to learn mystic abilities in old elvish tradition from the *Serene Temple, but you have heard stories of powerful mystics in the new world and want to learn their ways. You parents, while not approving, begrudgingly allow you to go but only after calling in a favor from some powerful people.
Silvyr spent six weeks on the Kestrel prior to arriving in Saltmarsh. Along the way, he provided instruction in her native tongue to Edward and Manfred, though he found the former a less than capable student.
