Temple of Living Stone
The Temple of Living Stone is dedicated entirely to Vodite, God of Stone, the father of Glenerene and a member of The Nature Pantheon, Due to its location in The Petrified Forest it is generally only visited by the most devoted of Vodite's followers. The trek is long and hard as there aren't many settlements near the forest thus making it a difficult journey and one that must be well planned.
Purpose / Function
"Within the hallowed halls of the Vodite's Temple, you will find peace and understanding. It is a place for all those with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Vodite himself walks the grounds and speaks with those who would seek him out. ~ Creavan Aria, Warden of StoneThe Temple of Living Stone serves as the home of Vodite himself as well as the home of his teachings. It is a place sought after by all those who seek to embrace his teachings and call for his wisdom. The temple serves as the central point of faith for followers of Vodite.
Alterations
The ancient stone temple stands untouched by time, with stories of the ages carved into the walls as time goes on. The only other thing that has been altered are the contents which have been updated to reflect the times and the addition of more libraries as the collections of books have increased.
Architecture
The temple itself is built of large stone bricks and slabs carved in intricate designs that tell the stories of the ages. Tall solid stone pillars offer support to the towering ceilings high above. The doors are intricately carved arches with a pagoda design at the top and large pillars framing them and the floors are large slabs of natural unpolished stone.
History
The temple has sood unmatched for as long as written history has existed. Despite this little is known about it's construction or history. Some believe it to be as old as the world itself, and others believe that it was built some time in the prehistoric times when the peoples of Glenerene were young and just learning how to survive.
Tourism
Typically the temple plays host only to the most devoted of followers or those seeking wisdom they can not find elsewhere. However, some scholars have been known to make the journey simply to see the grand libraries that Vodite and his follower's have amassed.
