General Summary
Travelling further along the road towards Østerbred, the Loose Cannons and the Silver Marshals make camp the evening before they expect to intercept the East Sceyan Trading Company's convoy. Rust asks an important question: should the Gold Empire conquer Sceya, what will the party do? Our heroes offer different suggestions and alternatives, mulling over their potential fate. While discussing this Elizabet also shares an important piece of information she has received from an unknown source: that there is a Brass Metal Church informant in Ravå, who likely serves the Ah Vokul Arkanic, which is more commonly known as the Brass Inquisition.
The next day, the Loose Cannons prepare their plan to intercept the Company convoy. While Kuzuha keeps watch, Gorm prepares to cast his invisibility spell on Elizabet, who will sneak down to the convoy and find the Mycaweed. As the convoy approaches, Martin, Ruzzik and Ruth distracted the Companists while Elizabet snuck down. Smelling the Mycaweed and opening the tarp of the last of the carriages, she found a massive Flamecannon and several small leadlined boxes. She sent Stickler in, who took all the boxes into the Bag of Holding.
While Elizabet was getting prepared to sneak away, a loud snap was heard and a beam of light hit Gorm in the shoulder, throwing him back and breaking his concentration on his invisibility spell. Kari acted quickly, jumping over and dragging Gorm behind a tree to take cover, while Fred created a wall of wind to stop any other attacks. Kuzuha found herself under fire as the Companists thought they were under attack, while Elizabet acted quickly and hid underneath the carriage before the Companists could spot her.
Looking out over the battlefield while under fire, Kuzuha saw a small distortion on the hill before them, and fired a spell at the distortion. The distortion began glowing and the attacker was revealed: a Night Owl operative armed with a terrifying telekinetic rifle. Now that this psionic warrior was revealed, the party threw everything they had at them, with Gorm sending beams of coruscating blasts towards them. Seeing that their cover had been blown and their major advantage of practical invisibility taken, the Night Owl stood up and pointed towards where Elizabet was hiding, before teleporting away in an inky black portal. Before the Companists turned towards Elizabet, Ruth whistled and her Elk mount, Gras, charged across the road, distracting the Companists.
The Companists decided to quickly evacuate the premises, and left in a hurry without noticing Elizabet.
Following this succesful heist, the Loose Cannons gave the mycaweed to the Silver Marshals, and discovered that the other crates contained ammunition for the experimental weapon the Companists were transporting. On their way home to Ravå, the Loose Cannons came under attack by vampires from Herregaard Hviid, who promised our heroes that even if they repelled the vampiric attack, Ravå and Grandal were still doomed. Using their prodigious abilities and knowledge of the vampires' weaknesses obtained from brother John, the party began pushing them back into the night.
