Mistborn

The strange white-skinned and dark-eyed people of the Mistsea, the Mistborn are humans from an ancient lineage who have forgotten most of their history. They live within the mist-cloaked islands of the Mistsea and on the long, rainy shore of the Mistsea Coast.
Most Mistborn scrape out an existence on rocky barren islands as fishermen, trading the bounty of the seas with the Faordaon for crops, vegetables and fruits. In times now past, Mistborn raided north into Salantano and northern Sceya, and up the rivers of East Sceya, claming loot and sacrifice for their dread gods, but the coming of the Gold Empire and Damatír tribe have humbled these raiding ambitions.
Today Mistborn are generally a meek people, who are slowly being pushed out of their ancestral lands by the ambition of the Gold Empire. Some Mistborn seek to a return to their old glory, and piracy and banditry from them has become a problem in East Sceya.
The Mistborn are pale-skinned and tattoed with strange aquan runes in a language they themselves barely understand. Their warriors fight with magical artefacts from ancient wars, and their religious leaders gather them at their holy island of Saltisle once a year for a grand feast in honor of their protector-god, Wavemaker.
