Ysgard

Ysgard is the divine domain of heroism, courage, struggle and perseverance. Champions of the gods clash in frost-coated valleys, fighting in the shadows of great mountainpeaks among which dragons, stormbirds and wyverns soar, hunted by great heroes. Deep forests hide elks the size of castles, walking alongside centaur warriorspirits, while legendary hunters come to claim their horns for themselves. Underground chasms hide entire kingdoms of humans, stone giants and dwarves, while old glaciers serve as hunting grounds for frost giants come to prove themselves for their master. None who die in honor in Ysgard truly die, all who fall with blade in hand are resurrected by the nature of the divine domain, ready to fight for glory again.
All except those killed by the Everfire. During the First War, the inhabitants of Ysgard tried to aid the mortals in the battle between the elements, but they invited a terrible evil into Ysgard in doing so. A great ocean of fire forced its way through the portals, and now a sea of liquid flame has broken Ysgard in two. This fire burns so bright as to permanently kill anything that touches it, and so lands near it are left entirely barren of Ysgard's warriors, as this burning mass is the only thing that can kill them.

Geography

Ysgard is a great sphere, chained to the divine realm by four great chains at its heavenly cardinal points. Between these four chains, all manner of biomes flourish and die with the vagaries of time. Mountains, forests, valleys and fjords have already been mentioned, but there is an even greater variety than this. Windswept deserts with the bones of titans, jungles where the vines are drenched in blood, caverns where heroes fight unspeakable horrors are also part of this great plane.
Halls of the gods
Ysgard, as all divine planes, is also home to gods. These gods have the power to alter the very fabric of Ysgard, carving out heavens, afterlives and divine palaces for themselves. In Ysgard, these are often dedicated to trials, heroism and combat.
Thrym's Hall
The frost giant god Thrym sleeps within his hall, in a massive cavern of glaciers. He sleeps to regain his strength, for he has been locked in a deadly duel with the Aldrnathr for milennia. Every hundred years he wakes up, alongside his cataclysmic adversary, and the two of them battle while Ysgard shakes to its very core, rearranging continents and destroying divine lands. Every time the Aldrnathr nearly kills Thrym, but not before he can wound it so it must rest again. After these fights he limps back to his hall, where he continues to sleep, until the next battle. The last couple of duels however, have been close for Thrym, and if he does not become stronger he may one day lose, which may be the end of Ysgard.
Thrym's hall lies deep in the glaciers of the far north of the world, and he is surrounded there by his greatest champions. These champions travel Ysgard and beyond, fighting duels against terrible foes and vanquishing the infamous, dedicating their victories to their sleeping god, so he may be strong once again when the fight continues. These mighty warriors and the lesser worshipers of Thrym believe that the blood they shed and the victories they claim strengthen their god, and so worship with every blow of the axe and wound inflicted, standing with Thrym against the eternal fire.
The Bronze City
The Bronze City is the Bronze God's domain, a titanic city, divinely inspired and created from the mind of the god itself. The Bronze City grows outwards as the faithful of the Bronze God join it in the afterlife, to become part of the perfect construction. Its boulevards, towers, walls, gates and churches are crafted from bronze of different shades, some of them alloys with other metals. Statues of great heroes dot the city, alongside monuments to the glory of the Dragon God. It is a beautiful city, an artwork on the scale of a county and built over centuries.
The Sea of Fire
The Sea of Fire is a great infernal sea, stretching its way throughout Ysgard and scouring the lands for miles in all directions. Some parts of it are molten flame, running hot over the land, while other parts of it are magmatic and slow-rolling. But the sea stretches far further underground, and Ysgard's continents flow over a terrible infernal sea. The Sea of Fire seems to move and writhe over the land, and this is because it is sentient. The Sea of Fire is the Aldrnathr, an ancient elemental once part of the Everfire, and it came to Ysgard millenia ago. While the Everfire sleeps in the material plane, Aldrnathr sleeps in Ysgard too. But fire is unpredictable and even today Aldrnathr stirs, rising once a century to continue its rampage across Ysgard.
