Northern(Mountain)Terra Detoran

Mountain Detoran were the first Detoran on Venero. They have grey hair and fur,pale teal skin and spots. They were not the first to encounter humans, though a part of the human/Detoran war took place on Mount Hibernis. They created the Century Hunt a coming of age rite. They grow thick fur in the winter as it can be extremely harsh in the mountains.

Most common names are winter or ice oriented though human last names have made a slight difference,the names are usually with the same meaning. Hibernis is the most common last name.Cryo.

Coming of Age Rites

Century Hunt: A special hunt for Detorans that come of age at 100,they hunt with others their age in a week long hunt.They are required to bring a back a fauna ranging medium to large and work as a pack to hunt.The goal is teamwork as well as survival as the Century Hunt takes places in winter. The Century Hunt for Hibernis has the largest packs ranging to 30 while other towns are only 15.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Family and friends are go and pay respects around a small fire. Sometimes a Lower or Upper Shaman is present to help send off the spirit of the deceased.
