Tottenham

The city of Tottenham sits south of Trosall and was at one point a mining town utilizing the resources of the Iron Peaks Mountains. The town did not start out this way and dug mines underneath the city in the start; however, with expansion they were the ones who dug into Iron Peaks and brought the rewards to their city. Caravans would load up and head off to the mines for days, returning with coal and jewels until around 20 years ago and a sickness began to plague the townsfolk. Some believed that the corruption from the Iron Peaks mines had expanded out, but no one was able to find the source of the corruption in the beginning. The mines below the city seem to radiate with a sickness, but all who have entered have never returned.
Mayor Elara Glimmershield: Mayor Glimmershield is a resilient and compassionate dwarf who has been trying to manage the crisis in Tottenham for years. She's desperately seeking help from outside the town to find a cure for the radiation sickness affecting her people. She wears a necklace with a gemstone that seems to glow faintly, a memento from her deceased spouse who succumbed to the illness.
Thaldrin Stoneforge - Blacksmith: Thaldrin is a gruff and hearty dwarf who continues to operate the blacksmith shop despite the challenges. He has developed a protective suit to withstand the radiation, allowing him to forge unique and potent weapons. Thaldrin is secretly researching ways to purify the contaminated ore and save his town. Any weapon made by him is a +3 weapon; however, because of the corruption the weapons are brittle and will fall apart. The DC will start at 1 and for each success it will increase until 0 where it ultimately breaks.
Grizzled Miner - Old Tarn: Old Tarn, a grizzled human miner, has lived in Tottenham all his life. He has tales of the mine's glory days and believes a mysterious artifact deep within the mine is the cause of the radiation. Despite his age, he's determined to accompany any adventurers willing to explore the depths.
Nessa Emberheart - Mysterious Elf: Nessa is a reclusive woman who resides on the outskirts of Tottenham. She practices forbidden magic and is rumored to have a connection to the radiation. Some townsfolk believe she can provide answers, while others view her with suspicion. Nessa might hold the key to understanding and resolving the crisis.
Merrick Flintlock - Exiled Artificer: Merrick, a disgraced gnome artificer, was banished from the city of Trosall for conducting dangerous experiments. Now, he lives in a hidden workshop beneath the town, working on a device that could either exacerbate the radiation or neutralize it. The townsfolk are unaware of his presence, but his actions could have dire consequences.
Brother Thaddeus - Devoted Cleric: Brother Thaddeus, an orcish cleric, arrived in Tottenham with a group of acolytes on a mission to provide spiritual guidance. He preaches that faith and divine intervention can overcome any adversity. Brother Thaddeus is determined to organize a healing ceremony to bring hope to the despairing townsfolk. He worships Luthic, the orc goddess of the caves, the patron of female orcs, healing, and home. 
Inn: The Radiant Refuge The Radiant Refuge is a sturdy stone building on the outskirts of Tottenham. Its exterior bears scars from the town's hardships, with makeshift repairs evident from the outside. The inn's name is a testament to the townsfolk's hope for a better future despite the ongoing crisis.
Innkeeper: Thalia Hearthspire
Thalia Hearthspire, a kind-hearted tiefling, runs The Radiant Refuge with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Despite the challenges, she is determined to create a haven for travelers and townsfolk alike. Thalia wears an enchanted amulet that glows softly, a gift from her grandmother who once dabbled in protective magic.
Description of The Radiant Refuge:
As you step inside The Radiant Refuge, you are greeted by the comforting crackle of a well-tended fireplace in the center of the common room. The walls are adorned with faded tapestries depicting the town's mining history. Dim lanterns provide a cozy ambiance, casting a warm glow over sturdy wooden tables and worn, but clean, chairs.
To one side of the common room, a small stage hosts local musicians, adding a touch of merriment to the otherwise somber atmosphere. Thalia often encourages bards passing through to share their tales and songs, lifting the spirits of the patrons.
The bar is made of polished oak, and behind it, a diverse selection of bottles and kegs line the shelves. A menu, written on a chalkboard, offers a variety of hearty stews, roasted game, and freshly baked bread. Despite the challenges, the inn manages to serve quality food thanks to Thalia's resourcefulness.
Upstairs, the rooms are simple but well-maintained. Each door bears a small brass nameplate, and the beds are adorned with warm quilts. The windows offer views of the struggling town, but the atmosphere within the inn is one of camaraderie and shared perseverance.
