Ship's Cook Adi Longhollow

Adi Longhollow, a female halfling, serves as a crew member of the sailing ship, "The Doubtful." In her official capacity, she's the ship's cook, though her responsibilities go way beyond that. Adi is a lightfoot halfling originally from a burrow just outside of Sacrament. Her father was a Longhollow, while her mother was a Daintyfoot (more than just a name, it's also a trait which she passed down to her daughter). Adi was hit with wanderlust at a young age. Before her 20th year, she was already out of the burrow, and headed to the big city of Angleport.
She quickly found city life to be far more trying than the relaxed mood back in her burrow. To survive, she soon fell in with a group of orphaned children, ones who stole and performed minor burglary to make ends meet. Her gang was called "The Swift Feet," and she rose in their ranks faster than any urchin before. Around the time she had accrued enough clout to become "leader" of the Swift Feet, she'd also racked up enough arrests that the next time she were to be incarcerated, the punishment would likely cost her a hand or two.
Adi made a decision, then and there, to get out of the petty theft business. Thankfully, she'd been developing a skill set without even thinking about it. For years, she served as "cook" to the young kids in her company. Mostly because she was the only one even remotely qualified. She never expected to love it as much as she grew to.
So it was, upon leaving the Swift Feet, Adi sought out work as a cook. This led to many jobs in the food industry, some better than others. But she never gained the same level of respect that she did amongst her urchin friends. Eventually, she was caught stealing food from the tavern in which she worked (in order to feed some down-on-their-luck street kids), and narrowly escaped the constabulary.
After hiding out near the docks, she suddenly found herself drawn to the large sailing vessels anchored at port. She tried many of the captains, looking for a ship that would have her as its cook. But halflings are often underestimated, and a female halfling even more so. Door after door shut for Adi. She began to get truly worried for the first time in her life... even more than when the law was after her.
In desperation she sought out the notorious Thieves Guild of Zanzakkar, known for taking in non-human rogues. She served as a "window popper" to the guild for several years, but soon she began to feel unsafe again. Now not only did she have the law after her, she also began to distrust her guild comrades. One night, without any prior warning, she snuck away, never to look back. It is unknown whether or not the jilted guild is currently on the lookout for her.
She returned to the docks, deciding to give it one more go. It was then that she happened upon a rickety old ship being refitted for the sea. It was "The Doubtful," and it was becoming known as a safe place for misfits and outcasts. With one demonstration of her cooking, Adi was instantly awarded the position aboard that she holds to this day.
Adi takes great pride in her work, and also covers a lot of other jobs when necessary. She's always attempting to learn new things, and she greatly admires Altious Khaza Eeris, "The Green Bull." In fact, he's essentially taken her under his wing, going so far as begin training her in the navigational arts. On occasion, Adi is even allowed to steer the ship.
If there's something else to note about Adi, it's that she's secretly in love with the ship's captain, Dreeva Vaeless. She'd simply die if anyone were to find out.
