Iusticia
Our Lady of Knowledge
Iusticia (Yew-Stiss-Ee-Yah) is the goddess of all knowledge. It blesses her and curses her. It is said that her ascension sacrifice was her ability to read and that she willingly blinded herself in order to become divine. Temples aren’t typically built in her honour, her houses of worship are archives and libraries.
She can only be manifested through possession of another person. The subject of the possession must be blind, either naturally, willingly, or forced. When manifested, Iusticia will only give one blessing of knowledge, and the blessing is tattooed across the skin of the priestess as she recites it. It is said ink bleeds from the eyes of those that channel her, and thus it has become practice for priestesses of Iusticia to wear white bandages around their eyes.
When manifested, she doesn't have an appearance as she takes on the face of the person she possesses. She is said to favour females with pointed ears and white hair, leading to the belief that Iusticia was an elven woman with bright white hair before her ascension to Divine. Should she possess someone that doesn’t match this description, their hair will slowly pale to white some time after they have been possessed. She can only possess blind people and while manifested, they will bleed ink from her eyes. Scrawled tattoos in all languages will form on the flesh of the person she possesses with each piece of knowledge she gives.
When manifested, she prefers to bestow information that is new to the mortal she convenes with. As such, those with amnesia often seek out a high priestess of Iusticia in hopes they can channel the goddess and help restore some of their lost memory.
