Good Hills Union
Overview
The Good Hills flank the western border of Keoland from the Dreadwood in the south to the northern plains that drain into the Rushmoors. The littlefolk love these highlands and have settled the region in great numbers. Gnomes and halflings work the mines and fertile vales of the Good Hills and have prospered for many years. The hillfolk are loyal subjects of the King, though they generally govern themselves. The communities in this region have harvested the bounties of the land, making many a family rich, though this was not always so. Once upon a time, vile creatures overran these hills, but they have been banished for many hundreds of years. Various folks have ruled these hollowed halls since before the arrival of the Suel and Oeridian migrants in the Sheldomar Valley. It was during the first century following the formation of the Kingdom of Keoland that humanity and the folks of these highlands were able to come together in peace, largely through the intercession of neighboring Oeridian settlers. The many enclaves of these hills now elect speakers to argue their interests in Niole Dra. These various speakers, who are typically more than a dozen in number, gather together in council at Blacktop. There they elect one of their own to act as First Speaker in the Council of Niole Dra. Currently this office is held by Blaif Rinnar, a gnome from Plim’s Delve.
