Township of Falsford

Overview

Although Falsford is a major trading center with a large volume of travelers passing through every day, residents tend to keep to themselves and give a wary look to all strangers who pass through town. It lies along two of the major tradeways of the region, the Fals Road between the cities of Thornward and Mitrik, and the Fals River that borders Bissel, Ket, and Veluna.   Falsford lies on the border with Veluna and Ket; the former of which they consider the longtime friends. Falsford is in the last stages of adding significant fortifications. The Knights of the Watch maintain a large barracks in town, and the Border Companies maintain a training complex here. All trade companies, merchants, and other business are strictly regulated in Falsford.

Notable locations

  • The Pick and Shovel: Set on the outskirts of the Merchants Quarter of Ebbernant, but closer to the center of town than the edge, near the Miners Quarter. Elhadib Raminz is the owner and a former miner and smelter. Elhadib hated the work and was able to set up the tavern with the help of a private investor, a merchant who’s life he saved while visiting the forge. tavern. Elhadib has proved very resourceful and the inn has become very profitable. Patrons are primarily ore merchants and local or visiting dwarves. Some miners and smelters come in, but the place is a bit rich for their tastes, though Elhadib hasn’t forgotten those he used to work with and discounts their drinks and food when they do visit. The tavern serves a special recipe of the Medig Hill Clan, Barrier Brew, and is host of annual Bissel Stew contest, started by Elhadib several years ago to bring in more business. Contest is held at the beginning of Brewfest with local celebrities who serve as the judges.

  • The White Willow Inn: The White Willow Inn is a two-story building made of wood and stone. It has a small basement, rooms for rent, and a busy common room. There is an open stone porch on the left side of the building and a stable to the right. Between the two, stands a white willow tree, perhaps 50 feet tall casting a large shadow over the open porch. There is a swing hanging from one of the branches. The entrance to the inn lies on the other side of the willow tree. Jashu Longhorn is the owner and bartender. His wife, daughter and some hired help run the kitchen and the floor.
