Human

Description

Humans are more physically diverse than other races but are generally quite similar in capability. They often focus far more on the differences than similarities and some will go as far as forming entire societies based on the exclusion of other humans. Yet, they are also capable of cooperating with just about anyone and accomplishing great things. They are expert craftsmen and mages, adept at mastering the arcane and scientific secrets of the world. Human culture in many places has become Haloran culture as its influence spreads far and wide across races of all kinds.  

Apperance

An individual can stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds. Human skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to blond; males might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick. A lot of humans have a dash of nonhuman blood, as they can breed with all other major races of Halor. Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live around a century.    

Human traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 1.   Age Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and around a century.   Size. Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.   Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.   Quintessence. Your Quintessence score is 10.   Versatile. You lean any Origin Feat.   Expert Attuner. Since many designs of early attunement items were made by and for humans, you are able to interface with them easily. You allocate one fewer points when Attuning to a magical item (minimum of 1) and the time to attune is halved for you.  

Resonance of the Bands

Human ethnicities vary greatly across cultures in Halor, but the most meaningful difference is due to which Band of Halor they call home. Humans are peculiarly in tune with the subtle fluctuations across the bands and are able to harness that energy to cast spells even without formal training. You may choose one of the eight bands of Halor; typically, the band you spent the most time in during your life. You learn a 1st level spell from the Band's associated School of Magic and may cast it once per long rest without expending a spell slot provided you are in that band. When you reach 3rd level, you may choose a 2nd level spell from that same band's school which follows the same rules. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it (choose when you select this race).
