Soulforged

Origin

Soulforged are the creations of the Inventorium of Aluism. Considered by the Inventorium to be the pinnacle of their creation, Soulforged find themselves wholly under the yoke of their creators; they are, by all practical means, slaves. As a relatively recent creation, theology, sociology, and philosophy have not yet settled their opinions on the Soulforged. Aluists, particularly those in Nelevar claim that Soulforged, as their created beings, must obey their creators as gods and therefore the slavery they impose upon them is not slavery at all. Soulforged tends to disagree with this opinion. All religions have one opinion or another regarding the sentience, self-worth, and afterlife of the Soulforged, but none have stopped to ask the opinions of the creatures whom they debate over.

Place in Society

Soulforged find themselves at the lowest rung of society in Nelevar, where the majority live, as the grunt workers of factories, estates, and farms. They do garner some sympathy from human followers of Ezengli who claim the mechanical creatures should be treated like any other living being. Many Elvespians find them a repulsive creation, an attempt to play god that should not work. Varathi view them as inferior creations that don't deserve to be recognized as anything more. Even Swarmlings, usually amenable, find Soulforged unsettling and try to politely keep their distance. Stonehooves are the only race that by and large doesn't have an inherently negative reaction to meeting a Soulforged. Thus many predominantly Stonehoof societies are the refuge and home for Soulforged that can escape the yoke of slavery.

Apperance

Soulforged are made of a malleable metal alloy that appears dark purple up close. When streched over a metal frame, it vaguly resembles skin. The alloy is inerlaced with runes that glow blue as the Soulforged's inner workings operate. Their facial was modelled after and looks fairly humanoid. Higer concentrations of runes means that parts of their skin appear blue.
