The Capital
Geography
The Capital City situates itself boldly at the base of the Great Tree. Nestled between sturdy roots which extend outward as natural barriers to attack - as the roots are difficult to climb and resistant to all magic manipulation. Nothing could be safer or more iconic a place. The sloping ground rising up to meet the Great Tree’s trunk offers a lookout for hundreds of miles. It’s upon this sloping terrain that the stepping city has sprawled down.
The vast Middle Valley's of Halvishlan are the pride of the kingdom. Vast planes of farm land and forests. All resting under the partial shade cast from the Great Tree’s canopy. There are a few rivers that wonder closer than others to the tree, but the canals and Aquaducts are the real shining beacons of innovation in moving water. Transporting countless shipments of goods in and out of the Capital.

Ecosystem
The ecosystem beneath the Great Tree is a unique one. All the land is for the most part cast in a semblance of shade at nearly all times of day. The distance from the tree base where Halvish rests is a vast distance above to reach the crown. This distance separates the city from the Great Tree, allowing light to still shine down upon the city. The air is more humid under the Great Tree. Fog often slides through the city on chilly mornings before drifting off to the west and dissipating. Large amounts of birds and the like call the tree home. And it is not uncommon to find migrating birds that linger under the Great Tree’s branches for extended periods.
The Great Tree is considered very Sacred, and as such all aspects of it’s life cycle is honored and treated with extreme care. Leafs that fall from the tree are collected and blessed. Water that falls upon the tree, or flows beneath it is considered Sacred. To drink or collect the water is a serious crime, punished with extreme prejudice.

Tourism
At it’s highest ring, closest to the trunk lives the Castle and it’s accompanying buildings. The small dense ring outside that houses the Royal Academy of Magic, the The RootMore Cathedral of Unity, barracks and Enforcers training facilities.
Cascading down in the next ring are the great houses, and nobility districts. The final two rings contain the middle class courtesan and tradesmen; and the largest and most sprawling outer section of the city is the bustling hub of trade, culture, housing, parks, and common areas. Pretty much anything and everything is available at the Capital.
All roads lead to Halvish, and all trade lives and dies on the business conducted within its boarders.
