Hashu Nassir
Hashu was the expedition leader to Birpud. Hashu is the younger brother of Trade Prince Warda Nassir. Like his older brother, Hashu has a passion for finding and logging historical data. When Qurio was discovered, Hashu pushed his brother to be put into the group of settlers to be sent to investigate. Hashu has so far been on 3 expedition to Qurio, reluctantly heading back after they both became too dangerous. Hashu was a well behaved member of the Seqhad council, but has since become more deranged and obsessed with the upside-down city.
Hashu has a pet Bariyan rat that he named Duke. He found Duke in the Nazwarin caverns on his first expedition there, hiding in a treasure chest filled with gold. He claims the rat communicates to him frequently that he's royalty, and Hashu found that endearing enough to keep him. Duke loves gold coins, and Hashu has given him an ancient gold coin to nibble on and play with, which Duke does constantly.
Hashu is reluctant to let travelers go to Qurio, and is afraid that they will break something or screw up future expeditions. He will only allow them to go there if they are accompanied by a individuals he personally trusts with his life.
Hashu is grumpy and old, bordering on senile. On one of his expeditions he found an ancient tome, which he believes is linked to the origin of Elves. The tome is a religious book of sorts, describing twin elven gods of light and light that he secretly has begun to worship himself. He is highly possessive over the book, wearing it bound to his back at all times.
