Landmark: Taprobane

Written by Ken D

The small section of land surrounding the Black-Tower, Taprobane is situated in the lands of the machines at the center of the Heimland.

Geography

The lands of Taprobane stretch to 20 thanna in length and width. The moat of acid that surrounds the Tower, known as "Tamirabharani", is in Taprobane. Within the land itself are thirty small "shelters" that are said to be where the Folk may have stayed at whilst they were constructing the Tower. These shelters are marked as L'Inde, Soani, M'Malen, Bocani, Cornene, Bucchus, Odocil, Acana, Dava, Azanui, Nagiri, Rhodagani, Sandocanda, Jovisextrenia, Sindecanda, Soanar, Mordi, Tarachi, Diorduli, Emni, Procuri, Nagadibu, Anurogrammi, Indyien, Ancienne, Nagragrammi, Naagadiba, Galibi, Moduti and Ogalibaz and are positioned all around the Tower with a distance of 240 miles between each.   It is not the shelters that make Taprobane interesting, though. The sands of Taprobane are a deep coppery-red like spilled blood. This "red-sand" contains high traces of Moona and is believed to be cursed by some people. The sand it not the danger, though. Strange creatures prowl around Taprobane, massive beasts known as "Tygers" by those who have sen them. Said to be the guardians of Taprobane, these beasts kill and eat anything that crosses into the territory of the red sand.
