Landmark: The Factory (Fortress-of-Sienna)
The Factory is the place where all machines big and small originate from. The Factory is also the name of the land it resides in, known as the Land-of-Machines or simply "Factory-Land". The Factory appears to run on Nuclear-Magic and is said to be able to continue functioning for at least 700 million years more.
Geography
In appearance, the Factory is a massive complex located at the center of the Heimland. The Factory is composed of entirely biological material and is believed to have once been a living organism. Samples taken from the Factory's walls have revealed trace particles of bone, keratin and muscle within the metal structure. This suggests that the substances used to make the Factory may have been living in origin, possibly bonded into non-living metal through tech of the Old Folk.
Chambers are connected together via tunnels that open and close with the touch of a hand. The largest room contains an altar composed of beryllium-bronze. This altar, known as the "Heart", births every machine. The Heart activates a system of mechanical arms that can assemble any needed machine within two hours. Stepping too close to the Heart will result in implosion, internal combustion, disintegration, radiation-poisoning, and fatal physical reconfiguration due to the high traces of Nuclear-Magic present in the device. The Heart is what keeps the Factory alive, what keeps all machines motivated to continue living. The Heart also programs its machines to fix themselves if they are damaged, suggesting that the Heart may hold a "motherly" affection towards its "children".
Fauna & Flora
The main inhabitants of the Factory are machines. A list of them include:
Asimovs: the most common of the machines, they appear as metallic humanoids with block-shaped faces. They see through lenses They have five fingers on each hand, and lack toes. Being the most humanoid of the machines, they prefer to wear clothes of the common people. Asimovs are titans of ingenuity, having the most intelligence of the other machines. They each have a small battery-pack anchored to the center of their chests by sturdy copper tubing, which they recharge with charging-stations.
Kinnara-360: small square-shaped mechanisms with four to six wheels each. They and other worker-bots are built to clean and maintain facilities and factories all across Heimland.
Samura-22: roughly humanoid worker-bots with six arms each. They are used for mining, especially for the harvesting of Moona in deep dark caves of Heimland.
Watchdog/Beagle-77: also known as "Lassies" or "Nurse-Dogs", these machines appear as small robotic dogs that take injured people to the nearest hospitals for treatment. Each Watchdog has a small medical-kit in its collar, which it can deploy to treat injuries ranging from burns and bullet-wounds to amputations. They also maintain hospitals.
U472-BMTs: massive hulking machines used for construction. They can each lift six tons and are used by the common people in the building of their homes. They can reduce objects placed inside them to component elements and separate them into individual piles, neatly takes apart objects and separates the parts into categories, replace the objects with a random items of equivalent function and value, grant an item a random remarkable improvement related to its function or just randomly and radically alter the object in an abstract fashion, loosely related to the item's general purpose. This "Conversion" power is mostly due to the essence of their cores, which are powered by Nuclear-Magic.
Kawai-69: machines that appear as sixteen year-old teenage girls. They can provide all kinds of entertainment, from dancing and singing to cooking and telling stories. They are also known as "Aunts" or "Midwives", since they prefer to look after children.
Natural Resources
The only resource the Factory provides is its machines, which benefit Heimland greatly.
