Lyrak Wolfenscourge
Lyrak was the mythical son of Animar The Honored, the First King of Men. And brother of Maarik the Bloodweaver, the First of all Vampyre Men. And by myth, is remembered as the First to bear the disease of Lycanthropy. The disease that causes men to change into Werewolves.
In the old myth. The story ofThe First Vampyre and the First Werewolf. Lyrak was left to the brutality of the Lycanids. He was bitten, slashed, and scourged. But did not die. The open wounds and saliva of the Lycanids mingled into his own wounds as he lay dying, but not yet dead. For three nights he writhed in pain. Until the full moon loomed over him through an opening in the cave. It changed the mingled fluids, and the disease of Lycanthropy was born. That moment, he began to contort, wretch, and wail in pain. The Lycanids that had thought him dead, merely looked on. By savage instinct, they knew he was becoming something different. Kindred. And Lyrak arose from the dirt. The Man left to wolves, now ruled them.
It is said that Lyrak would forever terrorize Mankind. The product of terrible happenstance that wrought forth something more evil. He would never see his brother Maarik again. But the two's legacy would come to blows and wreak havoc on Mankind. The horrors of the wilds, and the dark places.
The Faith of Aemar the All-Father would later amend the tale to say that he was slain by common wolves. Left to death by brotherly treachery. And as a result, he was Sainted to accommodate the imposed innocent death.
