Kastiar Institute

Hospital was named after the late king Kastiar who was instrumental in ending the first plague but ultimately succumbed to it. The Kastiar Institute is a well-funded and respected part of the League, bringing a new understanding about combating diseases and how to properly safeguard the League against the horrors of ignorance. Though it is hardly a place of public schooling, instead it requires some pedigree or an invitation to join the institute and acquire its a wealth of knowledge. But it has seen it possible to further a standard amongst practitioners of the medical schools, demanding that any practitioners have a license to ensure they know their field.
To many in the countryside, however, this is viewed as little less than theft, taking away good practitioners and limiting who can heal their ails when the local doctors can't afford a scholarship or may not come back at all.
The Institute has facilities all over the League to help combat the spread of diseases and with the passage of time it has taken on other responsibilities, to ensure proper places for treatment for physical injuries and pregnancies. Though it is hardly a thing found in the outskirts of the League.
