Gods

in Helios

There are minor gods beyond counting in the world of Helios, some have lofty goals and ambitions to protect their follows and the world, while others plot revenge for ancient misdeeds, and others simply seek to go on existing while entertaining themselves. The Gods have been there since the beginning and before, shaping the world and it's inhabitants.  

Types of Gods

though no classification of the gods is perfect, the old elven scholars were perhabs those that came the closest, by defining the gods based upon their state of origen. Which has led to  

Primordial

Primordial gods, are usually gods who represent the physical aspects of the world, such as the seasons, the elements and even specifics such as mountains and oceans. They are amongst the oldest gods of the world, who according to text existed on the world long before the arrival of the Celestial, who shaped the world, fighting amongst them selves to claim the world, and where they fought they warped and shaped the world. This chaos existed for untold eons, always unable to slay one another.  

Celestial

The Celestial are gods who represent ideals and mortal concepts, they are what shape mortals into the beings that they are, and drive them to achieve greatness. it was they who brought order to the chaos that was the primordial, so that their creations could prosper.

Aurin

The gods who were born on the material plane have an innate connection to it but are also less powerful than their celestial ancestors. But are non the less powerful entities in and of themselves, prayed to by many mortals. The Aurin are often worshipped more than their ancestral counterparts, for they understand the mortals better, being able to take mortal shape for prolonged periods of time, enables them a deeper understanding of their worshippers.

Nurin

The Nurin, a word derived from the elven language translates to new born/born. The Nurin are gods who are born between the intermingling of either the gods themselves or mortals. Such gods are usually weaker than proper gods, but are non the less imensely powerful, and hold the potential to become proper gods. So essence it refers to newer/weaker gods or demigods.

Accursed

The accursed is a subtype of god, those who have been banished by heaven to live in exile, such gods are always hiding and lurking the shadows, lest they be smited by the rightous gods for their wicked sins.
