The Timeless Serpent
Greatest of the Serpent's and the first of them, when he came to be, he had always been and would always be. It was The Timeless Serpent that brought order, law and reason to the world, he gave them laws and structure to function, and instructed his lesser brothers and sisters to shape the world and aid the mortals, while he protected them for primeval horrors that stalked the world.
To the Koanka the timeless serpent gave them the caste system, it gave all a place to belong and a function to fulfill so that name would wander aimlessly into oblivion and so that peace could come to the lands. As such it is greatly venerated amongst them, given many sacrifices and honors to assure him that his generosity was not misplaced. But he is rarely worshiped, for to contact the timeless serpent is a heavy task, and once done cannot be undone, his presence alone is a burden upon the soul, and what it gives is not always what one foresees, for his assistance cannot be in one place or one time, wishes a granted across time and space, and not always the right one. He is however acticly worshipped during times of crisis and war's for he is the great protector and that you can always count on him being there for, for his love of his children will overcome even the waste barrier that is time.
The Timeless Serpent is usually depicted as serpent coiling a sun disk or calendar, sometimes it is depicted as a plague or with a sword through it's head.
