Stygian Kingdom

  Though it has not been a kingdom for many centuries, the old families have kept the moniker, perhabs out of respect for the legendary king Musaf, or for it’s claim to authority, for though he died almost a millennia ago, his image and power still resonates within the people, his great statues and image carved into the immortal Stygian stone unique to the kingdom’s land.   Musaf is the seat of small nation, held in power by council of the 5 families, who defend the lands of Musaf. Musaf was once a kingdom in the times of the mage wars, but when the legendary founding king died with no heir, his most trusted retainers formed a council rather than falling into civil war over the domain he had established. Now the Council have lead the Kingdom for over 500 years through at times draconian measures they have held onto much of their ancestral lands, but many outsiders would claim it was at the cost of their common humanity and decency.   In the lands of Stygia the ruling council and many of it's citizens have grown a harsh dispocision for in these lands one must be strong to survive the constant onslaught, if one cannot be useful or breaks the law they are subject to terrible and dark magic that can bend the mind into mindless slaves sometimes even their bodies are subject to art of fleshcrafting, twisting their bodies into Chimera to fight the Sjeri. But on the otherhand the great houses are quick to take in those who show promise allowing them to enter the spellblade institute to train them as formidable soldiers and bureaucrats etc.
