Guardsman Fennric (a.k.a. Fenn)
Fennric is the right-hand man of
Guard-Captain Corrin Vankrellen. And if everyone in
Briga were to be completely honest, it is often a cause to release a relaxed breath when seeing Fennric approach in stead of his superior. After having been the victim of a crime, Fennric is a warm and reassuring presence that inspires no less confidence than the Captain himself. Even though one has to admit that with his serious and demure nature Captain Vankrellen elicits great trust in the townsguard's abilities, he does so in a more detached way. It is for this reason most folks prefer the easygoing Fennric, who would never hold his suspicions against anyone before proven guilty. Miraculously, that does not make him any less capable. It's just that he will be going about his tasks in a more sympathetic manner than most guards in smalltowns such as Briga would.
All of this makes Fennric - or Fenn which he will gladly let anyone close to him call him - seem more easily approachable to anyone in the town in need of help by the guards. Sadly, this means that Fennric will often have to interrupt his well-earned downtime at the tavern to escort townsfolk to the guard on duty and - more often than not - he will be compelled to stay and help out instead of returning to the tavern.
Mental characteristics
Fennric hails from the beautiful town of Strigent, another town on the shores of the river Rhyn. It is most likely the familiar river that has drawn him to apply for a post in
Briga while wanting to get away from a familiar town and build a life for himself in another place on the other hand.
Since arriving in Briga Fennric has never engaged in any romantic or sexual relationships and intends to keep it that way. Perhaps, his close friend Corrin Vankrellen would know about his preferences, but of course he would never disclose such personal information about someone else.
Where he grew up, Fennric seemed to enjoy a basic primary education. In the past year Captain Vankrellen has spent lots of his freetime to teach Fennric in different subjects.

History
Fennric has been Captain Vankrellen's right-hand man for close to a year and is perhaps the only person he is really close with. While they display a professional and casual relationship to the people of Briga, in truth they hold eachother in high regards. Corrin Vankrellen has a more difficult time of connecting with their fellow guards as Fennric does, which makes the younger man an important confidant for him. In turn, Fennric would never withhold his opinions from his Captain, although he lacks the unreserved frankness Corrin Vankrellen often displays.
Nicknames & Petnames
As such, outside of duty Corrin will call Fennric by his preferred nickname "Fenn". Fennric would never dream of coming up with a nickname for the Guard-Captain.
Commonalities & Shared Interests
They both share many interests, although Fennric had to admit at one point that he had insecurities in talking to Corrin about most of topics because the latter had enjoyed a better education and Fennric feared to embarass himself. Since then they are comitted to learning together, and Corrin seems to share all his knowledge his priviledged upbringing granted him with his friend.
Shared Secrets
While the Captain of the Guard always presents a professional exterior, within days of meeting him, Fennric could sense his distaste for politics and the local baron in particular. Their shared despisement of the man was what had them bond in the first place.
