HFH Teleportation Matrix

The wizards and artificers at Heroes For Hire have really outdid themselves with this one. This specialized teleportation circle not only works as a teleportation circle, but also acts as method of long distance travel using modified rules for teleport. In addition, it has a maximum range of 30 miles (rank 2), 100 miles (rank 3), 1000 miles (rank 4) for non-teleportation circle travel. In addition, once acquired, the Relay Crystal can be used to teleport (once per day) out in the field following the same rules with the same distance restrictions, but using the franchise's matrix for it's power source.

Teleportation rules:

The destination you choose must be known to you, and it must be on the same plane of existence as you. Your familiarity with the destination determines whether you arrive there successfully. The DM rolls d100 and consults the table. One additional detail is if the party wishes to teleport to a specific point (charted on the teleporter map) within the teleporter radius, it works without fail.

For destinations out of range, it follows the rules above. If on target, the party is put at the extreme range of the teleport, but in the correct direction to their target. However, the further out of range a teleport is, the higher chance it is of becoming off-target, then following those rules, but at the extreme range of the teleporter.
Otherwise, it follows the standard rules for teleportation circle, allowing for up to the teleportation of up to 10 creatures, (and any number of objects) who can fit in the 20ft diameter circle (1 huge, several large, etc)

Manufacturing process

Installation takes only about 2 hours from a squad of specialized engineers familiar with installation and handling of the equipment. However, it is possible for a single specialized foreman to direct installation to several unqualified workers in about 5 hours, plus an hour lunch break (union rules). The specialized cystals themselves have their own process not covered here.

History

The original concept for a teleportation circle has been in existence for several millennia. However, this modified version of a teleportation circle was the brainchild of several artificers at Heroes For Hire who were looking at ways to move large quantities of goods between land-locked franchises without having to make use of expensive wagon trains. The first iterations were modified to allow only instant transmition of goods (objects) between specialized circles. But not resting on their laurels, they continued their research eventually making a breakthrough with specially calibrated crystaline focuses allowing for accurate and dependable travel. Limited only by the age of the crystals, the teleporter became a standard for Heroes for Hire franchises all over. However, this required more space than a traditional teleportation circle, and a much larger investment for its construction. These restrictions limiting its proliferation to only well-established and wealthy owners.

The circle itself is made like a traditional teleportation circle with special chalks and inks. Additional crystals are then embeded in the leylines of the circle at key junctions to amplify its ability and to allow it to teleport creatures as well as objects within its circle. The crystals can also be replaced with replacements should they be damaged, so a cache of replacement crystals is usually nearby, also slowly gaining power from the direct connection to the weave they share. However, movement of these special crystals over a significant distance "severs" their link with the weave, diminishing their power until they have time to reconnect with the weave again.
