Koga Family (コガ グミ Ko-ga Gu-mi)

The Koga Family, a subsidiary of the Tojo Clan based in Okubo until its dissolution, engaged in a tumultuous rivalry with the biggest Family in the surrounding area the Ryoga Family, despite the Koga's lower rank within the Tojo hierarchy the Koga clan was butting heads and trying to establish themselfs in the area alongside the Ryoga.   Both the Koga and Ryoga families engaged in similar white-collar crimes, sparking a longstanding rivalry between them. Surprisingly, the heads of these factions, the Oyabun of the Ryoga Family and the leader of the Koga Family, shared a childhood friendship.   The Koga Family's legacy, unfortunately, did not extend beyond its dissolution. However, the estranged son of the Koga Family's leader used its name and reputation as a rallying call for former members. He urged them to join him in forming the Keihin Koga Division, a group within the Keihin gangs focused on white-collar crime. This division consists of businessmen and shady individuals representing the modern scheming yakuza salarymen.

History

The history of the Koga Family is not particularly interesting, except for their involvement in white-collar crimes such as financial manipulation and fraud.   In 1999, Patriarch Masuzoe Koga, grandfather of the late Matsushida Koga, and some of his thugs approached Ryoga Family Captain Kuragari Hidora about their family's reduced earnings in recent months. They mocked the Ryoga Family and threatened to take control of the area if they didn't contribute all the money they could. This led to a confrontation when the Koga Family tried to force the captain to collect protection money from their own contacts, which went against his morals, resulting in a quick brawl.   Within a few weeks, Patriarch Masuzoe Koga was exposed as a Korean Mafia infiltrator within the Tojo Clan. He was subsequently executed by Ishida Tsubaki on the orders of Masaru Sera.

Disbandment

The Koga Family, along with all other Tojo and Omi families, was disbanded in 2019 following the events of the 3K Plan, which led to the Great Dissolution. Many of its members were unhappy and tried to reestablish the family but were unsuccessful in reviving it as a Yakuza group. However, one individual saw an opportunity to revive the family under a new organization and banner.
